Derwin Thomas Myers, 62, passed away peacefully at Lancaster General Hospital on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. He was born in Lancaster to the late Aubrey F. Myers and Elsie M. (Green) Myers.

Derwin was a devout member of Bright Side Baptist Church.

Derwin was employed for more than 20 years at Community Action Program in the Culinary Department as an excellent cook.

He was a very loving family-oriented man. Derwin loved to cook and shared his passion with the community by helping cater events. He could never say "no" to anybody in need. He loved Gospel music, and dancing and listening to the sounds of Motown. Derwin is survived by his three siblings, Audrey L. Hunter of Columbia, Aubrey F. Myers, Jr., husband of Kendra B.J. of Belcamp, MD, and Tyson Stewart of Lancaster. He is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition, Derwin is survived by life-long friend Donna Dean of Lancaster.

A viewing will take place from 9 to 11 AM, followed by the funeral at 11 AM on Friday, November 8, 2019, at Bright Side Baptist Church. Interment will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
