Dennis "Denny" M. Steckervetz, 55, of 9 Green Hills Drive, Lancaster, died early Thursday morning, July 20, 2006, at his home, after a  courageous  battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Ruth M. Scheid Steckervetz of Lancaster and the late Christian Steckervetz. Denny was the husband of Colleen Consylman Steckervetz for 34 years.

Mr. Steckervetz was a raw material handler for Precisionform Incorporated for 19 years and retired December 31, 2005 due to his illness.  Previously  he was employed by Alcoa for 17 years.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Lancaster. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnamese War. Denny was a 1968 graduate of McCaskey High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

Surviving beside his wife and mother is a daughter, Lori L. Steckervetz of Madison WI. , a son Bret M. husband of Natalie Steckervetz of Eglin Air force Base, FL. A sister,  Judy F. wife  of Alex Munroe of Conestoga, PA.
