Obituary

Declan M. Caulfield, 50, of Lancaster, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 22, 2012. He was the husband of Patricia Gail Iamurri Bustaque Caulfield for 10 years. Born and raised in Stillorgan, Dublin, Ireland, he was the son of the late Eugene and Bridget Mimnagh Caulfield.

After completion of courses at Oaklands College and Trade School in Dublin, Declan received a City and Guild of London in Stone and Brick in 1983 and a City and Guild of London in Business Enterprise Skills in 1992. He was employed by the Irish government for the restoration of historical buildings for the department of tourism all over Europe and Asia. Since 2000 he was a self-employed independent contractor in the Lancaster and Philadelphia areas providing the planning projects, contracting of services and general construction involving new additions and renovations for numerous residential and commercial properties.

Declan worked in the music business for 20 years as a bass player with numerous bands, most notably the band Till September. He was a recording artist signed by PolyGram Records. Along with his friends he wrote the song "How Long" recorded by Ace.

A soccer fan, his favorite team was Leeds United in England. Declan also enjoyed bowling, playing pool and darts, traveling and learning about other cultures and socializing.

In addition to his wife Gail, Declan's family includes stepdaughters Meeghan Bustaque and Erin, wife of Carmen Ribecca, both of Lancaster; siblings Eugene Caulfield, Deirdre, wife of Fergus Rapple, twin sister Nancy, wife of Christopher Metzger, and Mary Caulfield, companion of Nial Feighery, all of Ireland; numerous nephews and nieces; mother-in-law Elsie Iamurri and sister-in-laws Melanie Iamurri, Gloria Iamurri Husted and Jill, wife of Doug Cisney, all of Lancaster.

A Viewing will take place 5-6:30 PM, followed by a Sharing Time at 6:30 PM, on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA.
