Deborah J. Gantz, 67, of Manor TWP., passed away at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, on Sunday, May 7, 2017. She was born in Lancaster to the late Ivan H. and Kathryn (Shank) Rice. Deborah and her husband, William H. "Bill" Gantz, Jr., would have marked 42 years of marriage this June.

A 1968 graduate of Penn Manor High School, she worked as a secretary for a local orthopedic surgeon. Deborah enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking cakes and planting flowers. She previously attended Stehman Memorial United Methodist Church.

Deborah's family includes her husband Bill, their son Jeff Gantz of Lancaster; her siblings, Dennis L. Rice of Mountville, Betty J. Bachman, companion of Gerald Trimble of New Providence, and Shirley, wife of David Chambers, Jr. of Landisville; niece Tina Eitnier and her children Andy and Abby Eitnier of Columbia and host of nieces and nephews. A stillborn brother and her sisters Nancy Rice and Donna Leaman preceded Deborah in death.
