Deborah "Debbie" A. Oettel, 61, of Lancaster entered into heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the Thelma (Gray) and Paul L. Frey. She was the loving wife of Charles "Chuck" Oettel, Jr., with whom she shared 42 years of marriage. Debbie was a nurse for over 40 years and most recently an RN with Mountville Family Practice. She was a member of Grace Church at Willow Valley. Debbie enjoyed working in her flower garden and nursing. She loved spending time outdoors and visiting the family cabin as well as the shore. She enjoyed many types of music from gospel to jazz, but mostly enjoyed attending Chuck's shows. She loved spending time with her family and considered time spent with her family as her greatest treasure. In addition to her husband Chuck, Debbie is survived by her sister, Phyllis Bireley (Richard G.) of Lancaster; her sisters in law, Lori Staffieri (Louis) of Conestoga and Diana Lowe (Don) of Washington Boro; her mother and father in law, Patricia and Charles Oettel, Sr., of Conestoga; numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul L. Frey, Jr. A Celebration of Debbie's life will be celebrated at 3PM on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Grace Church of Willow Valley, 300 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA 17602, with Pastor John Smith officiating and Pastor Robert Brody co-officiating. Friends and family will be received from 2-3PM prior to the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
