Obituary

Debby ran into the arms of Jesus on November 23, 2024, surrounded by close friends and family.

She was the loving wife of Eugene Loucks, who went to Heaven in Nov. 2022, and loving mother of Lorinda Tomko. Debby was born to Bill and Elise Greenfield on March 1, 1950, in Alexandria, VA. She attended Falls Church HS and James Madison University where she earned a degree in Psychology. She founded Psi Chi, an honor fraternity in Psychology, and was its first President. She attended George Mason University and earned her master's in counseling with additional credits toward her Doctorate.

During her sophomore year at college, Debby had a life-changing experience. She accepted a personal relationship with Jesus. After that the Lord was a driving force in her life and everything she did. She began leading Bible studies and was involved in Christian activities. After graduation, Debby was Assistant in Charge at a Training Center where she had her first contact with autistic students. It was decided to open up public school classrooms for the first time. Debby loved working with autistic students and applied for a teaching job with them. She was hired with one teaching class credit and went back to school to take more. Debby also helped write a new curriculum for the class. The class started in a high school, and ended up in a middle school. This is where God opened the door for Christian ministry.

Debby had middle school students helping out in her class. Some of these students were involved in a Christian club where Debby became a leader. Soon God led her to open up her home for two meetings per weekend with students from six different high schools. During the Jesus revival of the 70s, Debby would drive her students to Take and Give, a huge ministry for teens, and they went on camping trips to Jesus rallies. In 1984, she married Eugene and together they worked in ministry, leading Bible studies and Christian marriage counseling. Debby and Eugene loved traveling by train and exploring new places. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and visiting thrift and consignment stores. Debby taught Special Needs students in Virginia, New York and Pennsylvania for over 44 years. After she retired, she worked for Kreider Farms for almost 10 years as a tour guide.

Debby was loving, energetic, loyal and committed to helping people. Her Biblical beliefs were the basis of her life. In addition to her daughter, Lorinda, and son-in-law, Dan, Debby is survived by her brothers Gregg and Duane and numerous aunts, cousins and other relatives. Debby is rejoicing in Heaven, her home, with Jesus, Eugene, family and friends.

Debby's celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Manheim BIC Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545. Viewing begins at 10:30 AM with refreshments and a memorial service at 11:15 AM. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ALS United Mid-Atlantic, Alzheimer's Association, and Focus on the Family.
