David Wenger completed his final journey on Nov. 23, 2025. Raised among milking barns and sports fields of Chambersburg, PA, David was the 3rd of 4 sons and distinguished himself early by bravely choosing his own path. A conscientious objector during the Vietnam War, he completed his 1W service in the pharmacy at LGH, which became his professional home for over 4 decades. There, he helped usher in the computer age with mainframes and punch cards, led teams as a program manager, and contributed to essential policies and practices until retiring in 2013. He embraced travel wholeheartedly, exploring Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Czechia, North America, and beyond. His beloved wife, Shirley, was his partner in many of these adventures, including treasured visits to her hometown in the Philippines.

David knew that every path, including those that don't work out, held valuable lessons. He moved through the world with curiosity, open-mindedness, and a generous heart, walking lightly, and always eager to see the world through another's perspective. Never shying from hard conversations, he delighted in spirited debates on politics, religion, and life itself, often with a twinkle in his eye. David cared deeply for others, tending to those who needed him and especially to those he loved. His quiet charm and gentle spirit drew people to him wherever he went.

In his final moments, David was surrounded by family who adored him. He is profoundly missed by his wife, Shirley, with whom he shared laughter, great food, and enduring trust and devotion; his children, Marc (Sylvia) and Lisa (Jo); and his treasured grandchildren, Matthew, Elena, and Ethan. David was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Mary, and is survived by his brothers, Ron (Marie), Ken (Mary), and Ray (Brenda).

Every memory secures our lasting connection, and David leaves a steady light illuminating our lives. He will live on in the lives of family and countless friends, near and far, fortunate enough to have shared part of his journey.
