David A. Steele, 70, of Lititz, passed away at hospice on Wedn., Jan. 3, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was the son of Goldie Steele of Millersville.
He was a J.P. McCaskey High School graduate, class of 1971 and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts advertising degree from Kutztown State College in 1975. He worked at a local advertising agency briefly until opening his own agency in 1976. David received an insurance license in 2002 and worked his way to become a Federal Employee Retirement Benefits Counselor.
David loved life and as "Pam" said to John Travolta in "Urban Cowboy", "And all that, that implies." He had many hobbies including softball, fishing, traveling with his wife Sharon, going to the beach, antiquing, woodworking, and woodcarving, where he won 3 World Championships in 1998 for his realistic fish sculptures, guitar building and solving puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sharon Steele; loving sons, Christian D. Steele of Towson, MD, and Jordan L. Steele of Lancaster; stepdaughter Pamella Neidermyer (Rick) of Lititz; sister Susan Testa; half-sister, Stephanie Brown, and half-brother, Randy Steele, and their families.
A Memorial Service honoring David will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543, at 11 AM on Jan. 12, 2024. The family will receive guests from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, 2182 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601, or Hospice & Community Care .
