David W. Rotert, 87, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on July 24, 2024.

Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Herbert H. and Fannie R. Wilson Rotert.

Dave had worked for many years at the Grinnell Corporation. He enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid birder, music lover, especially the blues and jazz, and collecting antiques. He performed extensive family genealogy research before the advent of the Internet, tracing family roots of many generations to Germany, Ireland and Europe.

He is survived by a niece, Lise Thayer, nephews Kevin and Todd Rotert as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Warren H. Rotert.

Per Dave's wishes, he has donated his remains to the Humanity Gifts Registry in Philadelphia, PA to advance medical education and research. There will be no services, with his family celebrating his life at a future date. The family would like to thank Abbeyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster and AccentCare Hospice for their compassionate care of Dave throughout his last years and days of life.
