David P. Minnich, 75, formerly of Lititz, passed away in Pottsville on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Born in Lancaster, David was the son of the late Galen and Sylvia George Minnich. A talented and top-notch carpenter, David was self-employed in his own carpentry business, spanning a career of over 30 years. While growing up in Lititz, he helped in the family business, Minnich's Deli. He had also played semi-pro football for the Lebanon Rams in the 1960s. A fan of all sports, he was in particular a Penn State fan. He enjoyed hiking and biking, was very health-conscious, and liked to play chess. David is survived by his children: Jeffrey married to Heidi of Jonestown, Sheri Witmer married to Ben of Lititz, Gregory of China, Shawn of York, Annette of Leola, and Eric of Lititz; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Douglas married to Cindy of Lititz, James married to Doris of Ephrata, Sue Weaver married to Jim of Lititz, Linnea Hershey of Lancaster, and his life-long friend of 50 years, Barry West. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of David's life at the Lititz American Legion Post 56, 109 N. Broad St., Lititz, PA on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 5-8PM.
