David was born March 15, 1978 and died May 28, 2018 in Charlottesville, VA. Like too many stories we read daily, it started with an injury and prescription medication, and it ended with an addiction Dave could not shake. Dave was the son of Judy and Tom McDermott of Lancaster, and father Scott Maser husband of Linda of York. He leaves his son and best friend, Preston Maser whom he loved so much, along with his other best friend and brother, Joseph Maser. Also surviving is his half-sister Austin Maser, nephew Matthew Maser, niece Madelyn Maser, and maternal grandparents Cleon and Ann Grove. He will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. His furry friend "Nelson" will miss those long walks together. Dave had an incredible sense of humor, was known to pull a prank or two, and had a wit to match. He was an outdoorsman at heart and struggled to fit the mold of everyday life. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman second to none. We want to thank the many who lent a hand to help him find the right path. Special thanks to Dr. Tony Mastropietro.
