David E. John, 69, of Willow Street, PA passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Shamokin, PA he was the son of the late George A. and Mary (Houghton) John. He was married to Fay (Bloom) John with whom he just celebrated his 35th wedding anniversary on November 3rd. He formerly worked at the Somat Corporation and retired in 2011 from PP&L Co. in Holtwood after 31 years of service. David was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Holtwood. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, motorcycles and old trucks. In addition to his wife, Fay he is survived by a son, David E. John, Jr., of Philadelphia, a daughter, Marie E. Beamenderfer, wife of Shawn of Lancaster, PA. Also surviving is one grandson, Brendan David Beamenderfer and a brother, Paul John of Winfield, PA. He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Donald and Bert John. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:30AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602 with Rev. Keith Price officiating. Friends will be received two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shamokin, PA on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to the Bethesda United Methodist Building Fund, 93 Old Holtwood Rd, Holtwood, PA 17532.
