David J. Hershey, 79, of East Petersburg, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Born in Marietta, PA he was the son of the late Margaret (Frame) and George Hershey. He was the loving husband to Joanne (Brachendorf) Hershey for 55 years.

David was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. He was employed as a molder for Grinnell Corp. in Columbia, PA. David enjoyed surf fishing, hunting and going antiquing with his wife. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served in Turkey, Beirut and W. Germany.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his stepdaughters Kim, Kathy, Karen and his son, David; his brother, George; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby; and his stepson, Lynn Hess.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11AM, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601. Friends and family will be received from 10AM to 11AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011
