Obituary

David Kenneth Campbell, 87, passed away at Conestoga View on Wednesday March 3, 2021. He was born in Manheim Township to the late Charles F. and Mary A. (Weinhold) Campbell.

A graduate of Manheim Township High School, Dave worked in the wood department at Sensenig Propeller for 30 years. Before completely retiring in 2001, he worked for Manheim Auto Auction.

A Lutheran by faith, Dave worshipped at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Petersburg, and then Salem Lutheran Church, Lititz, before attending services at Evergreen Estates and lastly in the chapel at Conestoga View.

He was a quiet and humble man, who was always appreciative of the small things in life. In the last 15 years of his life, Dave enjoyed his Saturday dates with daughter Linda going for ice cream and driving through County Park to watch the deer.

At Evergreen Estates and Conestoga View Dave enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together. He was very fond of his favorite nurse Kristy, who would join him for lunch and helped him complete the puzzles. Dave adopted his roommate's niece, Lorraine, enjoying her visits and assistance with his puzzles, eating treats and their weekly video calls. Over the last year Dave's admiration for Michelle and Dawn, in the Activities Department at Conestoga View, has grown. They went above and beyond in keeping him connected with his family and friends with weekly video calls. They truly treated him like family.

Surviving Dave are his daughter, Linda L. Brown, and her twin sons, Jason and Eric Brown, all of Lancaster; his daughter, Patty L, Ward, of Lancaster; his former wife, Marlene (Garman) Campbell of Manheim, and his brother Edward Campbell of Manheim.

The youngest of 12 children, Dave was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, and his daughter Cindy Campbell.

Dave's family will greet friends from 6:30 to 7:00 PM, Friday, March 19, 2021, followed by a celebration of his life at 7:00 PM, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Private interment will take place in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conestoga View Resident Fund, c/o Business Office, 900 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602.
