David C. Williams, 56, of Reading died Thursday, July 10 ^th at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Coatesville on June 3, 1952, he was the son of the late Chester and Betsy Price Williams. Dave was formerly employed as a Correctional Officer at the Lancaster County Prison and as a Youth Counselor at the Boys& Girls Club of Lancaster. A former member of Bright Side Baptist Church in Lancaster, Dave attended Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reading, PA.

He is survived by a son David C. Williams II, Lancaster, PA, brothers: Richard Grant, Chicago, IL; Thomas Williams, Norristown, PA; a sister, Susan Williams, Annapolis, MD, several nephews, nieces, cousins and former partner, Bonnie Glover, Lancaster, PA. He is also survived by special friends: Apryle Banks, Eli Williams and Cornelius Cunningham, all of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a brother Charles W. Williams.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 12:00PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, Pa . There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends from 11:00AM until the time of the service. At the request of the family, kindly omit flowers.
