Darlene Schrader, 77, of Lancaster, passed away on June 14, 2018 at her home. Born in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anna R. Hollenbach and Norman Berstler. In 1958, she was valedictorian of the very first graduating class of Blue Mountain High School. She graduated from Drexel University in 1972. She was a teacher from Blue Mountain School District. She then organized an in-home child care program, and went on to own her own beauty salon, and finally worked for the postal service for over 20 years from which she retired. Darlene liked to play the piano, sing and dance in years past. She enjoyed playing Pinochle, going to the movies and gardening. Darlene's greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are three children: Stanley Schrader, husband of Laura, Scott Schrader, husband of Diane, and Sueanna E. Schrader; five grandchildren: Parker and Robert Schrader, and Jackie, Emily and Anna Schrader; and her cat, Chase. Darlene was preceded in death by her first husband, Parker Schrader, and her second husband, Chester Dorwart. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4-6 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
