Daniel Klim, 91, of Lancaster, PA, went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2025. Born in Philadelphia to the late Michael and Anna Klim, Daniel dedicated his life to education, family, and faith.
When Daniel was only a young boy, he lost both of his parents to tuberculosis. He then grew up in Christ's Home, Warminster, PA, and as a teen, transferred to Christ's Home, Paradise with Ruth and Ed Jerchau as house parents. Dan was recognized for his artistic talent while in school and he continued to develop his skills with drawing, painting, woodworking, and carving.
He pursued higher education at Lancaster Bible College, Gordon College, and Millersville College before earning his Master's Degree in Science from Duke University. He became a beloved science teacher in the Penn Manor School District, inspiring countless students throughout his career.
After retiring from education, in 1981 Daniel embarked on a new journey as the owner and operator of Annville, PA's Hill Farm Estate. With the help of many friends and the community, he and his wife transformed the vacant, rundown property into their top-notch personal care home, expanding on the magnificence of the original Kreider Mansion. From opening their doors in August 1982, Daniel managed with excellence for 18 years until his final retirement in July 1999.
Daniel was married to the love of his life, Ronnie Jean, for 64 wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, David and Alison. Dan was known for his honesty and strong work ethic, and his youthful good looks. His easygoing nature grew more and more as he aged. He and Ronnie Jean shared a love for travel and missions, and they also enjoyed flying together to Bethany Beach and other nearby destinations when Daniel earned his private pilot license. Gardening, playing tennis, and long hiking adventures with friends are other activities he enjoyed.
A devoted member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Daniel found joy in singing with the choir and engaging in his faith community.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Ronnie Jean; his son, David Klim (Holly); his daughter, Alison Tobias; grandchildren, Danielle Millaway (Brian), Derek Klim, Sunny Graybill (Daniel), Brionna Tobias, Natalie Tobias, Daniel Tobias, and Megan Megill (Robin); and five great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Anthony, Michael, Joseph, John, and Steve.
A memorial service will be held on February 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601, with a visitation from 10:00–11:00 AM. Daniel will be laid to rest in the church's memory garden following the service.
His legacy of generosity, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ's Home (visit www.christshome.org ) or the ministry of your choice.
