Obituary

Daniel J. Geraci, 64, of Holtwood, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, Dan was the husband of Linda (Kovaleski) Geraci and the son of Theresa Anthea (Long) Geraci and the late Charles J. Geraci, a World War II veteran.

Dan served in the US Air Force with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was later honored with a commendation from President Nixon for his work on Air Force One while stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. He was a member of AMVETS, Post #19, Millersville VFW, Post #7294, as well as other veteran organizations. He was involved in The Wounded Warrior Project and a proud sponsor of "Believe in Heroes!" Dan was well known for his dedication to and continuous support of our troops, sending care packages and providing assistance to the families of veterans here at home. Prior to his retirement, Dan worked in production at Armstrong World Industries. He especially enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, fishing, hunting and spending "happy hour" at the Frogtown Café with his friends and retired veterans. Dan was of the Catholic Faith and belonged to St. Anthony of Palau Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Linda, and mother, Theresa, Dan is survived by three siblings: Charles J. Geraci, husband of Ellen (Trauger), New Providence, Theresa H. Ditzler, wife of Michael B. Ditzler, of Lancaster, and George M. Geraci of Lancaster; Nieces: Nina Geraci, Melissa Kramer, great niece, Miah Kramer, and nephews, Harry Connell of Pequea, Ryan Kovaleski, and Bradley Kovaleski of MN.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551. A prayer service will follow with The Rev. Dan Richards officiating. Immediately following the ceremony, a celebration of Dan's life will be held at Valentino's Café, 132 Rider Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603.

Daniel will be laid to rest with military honors by the Air Force Honor Guard from Dover Air Force Base, on April 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
