Obituary

Daniel W. "Danny" Payne, 57, of Lewisberry, PA passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 due to complications from a stroke 6 months earlier.

Born in Harrisburg he was the son of James W. Payne of New Cumberland, PA and the late Arlene (O'Neal) Payne. Danny graduated from Redland High School and was a self-employed carpenter. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. Danny enjoyed these activities in addition to spending time at his family's hunting camp in Cameron County, PA. He had a great sense of humor, was very outgoing, good storyteller and had multitudes of friends.

In addition to his father he is survived by three children Nicole, Michael and Tori; two brothers James H. Payne, husband of Dianna of York, PA and Steve S. Payne of Goldsboro, PA; one sister Robin, wife of Ron Smith of Etters, PA and eight nieces and nephews Austin, Danielle, Jen, Stephen, Jessica, Mandy, Jake and Jeb. Danny is also survived by his chocolate lab Sylvia.

Memorial services will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 at 11AM from Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, 402 Valley Rd, Etters, PA 17319. Interment will be private. A visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of his memorial at the church. A luncheon will be served after the memorial service in the church social hall at noon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, 500 University Dr. Hershey, PA 17033 in his memory.
