Clare B. Haddock, 84, of Columbia, passed away at Hospice & Community Care on Saturday, January 20, 2018. She was born in Shamokin to the late Peter and Victoria (Lubrecki) Sokolowski. Clare's husband, the late Robert A. Haddock, Jr., passed away in 2003.
She was a graduate of Saint Edward's High School in Shamokin and then Empire Beauty School in Lancaster. Clare was very devoted to her family. She loved to travel and camp. She enjoyed trips to Indian River Inlet and Rehoboth Beach and boating. Clare also enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and playing bridge. More than anything else, Clare loved to be with family and friends.
A devout Catholic, Clare was a former longtime parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lancaster and currently a parishioner at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Columbia.
Clare is survived by her 3 daughters: Ruby A., wife of Charles Weller of Middleburg, Ellen Haddock of Columbia and Jo A., wife of the late Joseph Raff, III of Columbia; her son Robert A. Haddock, III, husband of Brenda of Lititz; 5 grandchildren: Margaret, Charles, Michele, Joseph and Crystal and 13 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Colton, Victoria, Allison, Aislynn, Charles, Kaylee, Lizzie, Miranda, Aaron, Isabella, Liam and Sophia.
In addition to her husband Robert, Clare was preceded in death her 7 siblings: Frank Socoloski, Anna Pawlicki, Victoria Lally, Regina Llewellyn, Adele Zigmunt, Isadore Socoloski and Joseph Socoloski.
A viewing will take place 2 to 3 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3 PM with Rev. Daniel P. O'Brien officiating, on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Private interment in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider sending a contribution in Clare's memory to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 121 S. Second St., Columbia, PA 17512, or to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
