Clair Wiggins, 79, of Lancaster passed away on April 13, 2012, peacefully at home due to complications of diabetes and went to be with his Lord. Born in Lancaster he was the son of the late Ross B. Wiggins, and Evelyn (Phillips) Wiggins. Clair was the loving husband of E. Lucille (Martin) Wiggins. They would have celebrated 52 happy years on June 17.
Clair was a Veteran of the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Korea and North Africa. In Lancaster he was an electrical maintenance worker at The Water Works. Clair was an avid roller skater, and in 1980 won the state championship for figure roller skating. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and a lifetime member of the Strasburg Sportsman Association. He enjoyed reading hunting magazines of hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. His last trip was to Kansas for deer hunting. Clair also loved spending time at his cabin in Huntington County, PA and training his golden retrievers.
He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church and attended Lancaster Alliance Church.
In addition to his wife, Lucille, Clair is survived by his brother Russell Wiggins, and his nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Ross, Veryle, John, Bertram, and Jay.
A funeral service for Clair will be held at 11AM, on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 with Rev. Douglas L. Enck officiating. A public viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10 AM – 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
