Clair R. Cochran, 81, of Lititz, passed away at Masonic Village on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Clair S. and Hazel (Dagen) Cochran. Clair's wife of 43 years, Phyllis A. (Hetrick) Cochran is a resident of Masonic Village.
A graduate of the former Lititz High School, he served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War and then the Army Reserves, obtaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class. Clair worked for Danaher Corp. in Hunt Valley, MD as a tool room supervisor and then in the model shop for a total of 47 years, retiring in 2000.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to Manheim Lodge #587 F. & A.M., Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, Reading Consistory and the Order of DeMolay. Clair enjoyed hunting, fishing and square dancing.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, Clair is survived by his step-daughter Grace Geltmacher and step-grandson William Crawford, both of Tonawanda, NY, and his brother, Russel L. "Butch" Cochran, husband of Marta Jo of Lancaster.
A viewing will take place from 10 to 11 am, followed by the funeral at 11 am with The Rev. William Willard officiating, on Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Village Hospice, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
