Obituary

Christine B. Enoch passed away tragically as a result of a car accident on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the age of 60. She was the daughter of Barbara Bachman (Habecker) and the late Don Bachman. She leaves behind her best friend and husband of 37 years, John Enoch.

Chris grew up in Lancaster County, graduating from Hempfield High School in 1976. She went on to graduate from Penn State University main campus in 1980 with a BS degree in mechanical engineering. Over her life, she worked as a mechanical engineer at RCA, Bulova Technologies, L-3 and most recently, Sechan Electronics as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Chris was a quiet pioneer in her industry. In her early days as a mechanical engineer, she faced men who did not want women in the workplace. She went to work in spite of them. Most importantly, she also took 12 years off of work to raise her three sons with a kind heart and tough spirit.

Chris treasured her family. She had many fond memories from childhood exploring the nearby farmland with her sister, Linda Minnich. Chris cherished the time with her parents at their mountain cabin which the family built themselves. She loved spending time in the garden with her mother. Chris and Linda were both a bedrock for their mother after their father's passing.

Chris's flower garden was something to behold. She worked countless hours maintaining it to perfection. She also loved to travel across the country and around the world with John, regularly taking out their motorcycle to find new adventures. One of their favorite destinations was to the homes of their three sons, helping with projects and making their homes special. During projects, "good enough" from her sons was never acceptable for Chris.

Chris also taught Sunday school at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she and her family were members. Chris would work with John's mom Marge Enoch assembling class plans and interesting crafts for the children.

Chris also loved shopping for clothes, buying impossible amounts of sweet corn to prepare soup and corn fritters, sewing quilts for her loved ones, and endlessly redecorating her home. Her favorite every day activity was taking long walks around the neighborhood with John. She did not always love walking up the big hills near their home, but always agreed to with a smile. She would walk with him anywhere.

In recent years, she adored the new editions to her family, her son's significant others. The three new women in her life all reflected the best aspects of her personality. She loved the fact that three beautiful women were coming into the family. She cherished shopping for them.

Chris will be truly missed by all of her friends and family. Besides her husband and mother, Chris is survived by her sister, Linda, and her husband, Scott Minnich, and Chris's three sons, Kyle, Ryan and Mark Enoch. She also leaves behind John's mother, Margaret Enoch, as well as his brothers and sister Charlie Enoch, Matt Enoch and Sonya Pappas and their husbands, wives, and children.
