Christina K. Kiapokas, 88, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ephrata, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lillian (Mellinger) and Apostolis (Pete) Keares. Christina was the beloved wife of Michael G. Kiapokas, with whom she shared over 65 wonderful years of marriage.
Christina had a wide variety of interests and hobbies that brought joy to her and those around her. She loved solving word searches, finding peace and focus in each puzzle. Her hands were rarely idle as she enjoyed crochet and knitting, creating beautiful handmade items for family and friends. Her artistic side shone through her love of ceramics, where she crafted intricate pieces with care and precision.
A seasoned traveler, Christina cherished her trips to Greece to visit family and explore her heritage. She was also an exceptional baker, known for her delicious treats that were enjoyed by loved ones and during community events, especially the Greek Bazaar. Her hobbies reflected her love for creativity, family, and tradition. Christina was devoted to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years, which she enjoyed.
She is survived by her husband Michael G. Kiapokas, children: Thalia M. Kiapokas of Lancaster and George Kiapokas of Denver, PA; Grandchildren:, Christina Stoltz (Jordin), Steven Becker, and Ashley and Anna Kiapokas; great-grandchildren: Landon. Asalyn, Jocelyn, , Isabella, and Willow as well as her beloved cat, Mr. Excitement. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Christina was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Croy, and her brother, Harry Keares.
A private funeral service was held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
