Christina G. Hatzipetros, 90, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Conestoga View, 900 E. King St., Lancaster, after an illness.
Born in Asfendiou, Kos, Greece, Christina was a daughter of the late Rev. Ioanis and Andriana (Keares) Hazangeles. She was the wife of the late Grigorios P. Hatzipetros who died in 1970.
Christina came to Lancaster, PA in 1973 to join her family. She is a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where she was a member of the Philoptochos Society, the church Bible Study group, and also a member of the Pan-Coan Society. A homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking and gardening. Christina enjoyed people, and they were always welcomed in her home. She especially loved her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Petros Hazipetros of Lancaster; and John G. Hazipetros, husband of Susan F., of Lancaster; and one daughter, Andriana Firoglanis, wife of Christos K., of Lancaster; six grandchildren: Kyriakos, Gregory, Emmanuel, and Father Deacon Hector, husband of Presbytera Katerina, Yianis and Andros; one great-grandson, Christos; two brothers: Harry Hazangeles; Pete, married to Areti Hazangeles, and sister, Stamatia Madonis, wife of Dimitrios, all of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a brother, Angelis Hazangeles.
A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with the Trisagion at 7:30 PM at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Monday at 10:30 AM from Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. PA. Please omit flowers; memorial contributions may be sent in Christina's memory to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
