IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlotte W.
Tilley
November 8, 2025
Charlotte W. Tilley, age 89, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. She was born in Norfolk, VA in 1936 to the late Eugene Vincent & Elizabeth Wyatt. Charlotte was a gem of a person who appreciated all that life gave her and will leave a void her family cannot fill.
Everyone knew where the candy drawer was in our house growing up and every dog in the neighborhood knew that they would get treats from her. Charlotte was a loving, giving, beautiful soul and those that knew her will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Charlotte graduated from Granby High School in Norfolk, VA in 1954 and went on to graduate from William & Mary College with a degree in Music. Music was a constant throughout her life from being a music teacher, guest soloist, and choir director. There were many other jobs over the years from Bank Teller to Playground aid and she always made friends wherever she went. She loved her family, all animals, travel, gardening, and found beauty in all things. She was always smiling, laughing, and being her bubbly self.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Hoskins and her 2nd husband, Walter A. Tilley. Charlotte was a beloved mother and is survived by her children, Joseph U. Lee IV & wife Lori of Lititz, PA; Brian W. Lee & wife Lorna of York, PA; Kristen L. Lentowicz & husband Kirk of Ocoee, FL; and two step-sons, Walter A. Tilley Jr.& wife Suzanne of York, PA; and David A. Tilley & wife Dorothy of Lancaster, PA; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many friends, family, & neighbors who will miss her dearly.
The celebration of life for Charlotte W. Tilley, 89, who passed away on November 8, 2025 will be on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with visitation with her family to occur from 10AM to 11AM. Interment will follow in the Highland Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.
