Charles E. Slupe, 93, of Ocala FL. peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday morning, February 22, 2011 in Lancaster.

He was the husband of the late Dena M. LoStorto Slupe, who passed away in 1995. They were married 54 years at the time of her passing. Born in Butler, PA he was the son of the late Walter J. and Lucille Gregg Slupe.

Charles had worked as the foreman of the model shop for the Schick Corporation in Lancaster from 1955 until his retirement in 1979.

Charlie loved to play cards especially duplicate bridge and he earned the coveted "Life Master" in duplicate bridge from The American Contract Bridge League in 1976. He was very active in the Red Rose Bridge Club and was a past president. When he moved to Florida he formed several Bridge Clubs and helped run the games. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren. In years past he also enjoyed golfing and traveling.

Charles is survived by his sons: James E. married to Penny Slupe of York, and Ronald C. married to Ellen Slupe of Lancaster; his daughter Brenda married to Edward Kane of Lancaster; his 5 grandchildren: Amy Jo, David, Nicole, Michael, and Jamie; and his 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Leroy Slupe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and his sister Gladys Beaver of Butler, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother Walter L. Slupe.

Friends will be received on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 10-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA , with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM, the Rev. James Day officiating. Interment will be private in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
