Charles R. "Skip" Gross, 79, of Leola and formerly of Lancaster, went home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 5, 2013. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Gladys Frey Gross. Skip shared 59 years of marriage with his wife Nancy Strubel Gross.

He was employed by the Lancaster City Street Department for 17 years and Oregon Manufacturing for 32 years. Skip enjoyed many years of cookouts with family and friends, Knoebels and endless memories of being surrounded by children. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Strasburg.

Surviving are his wife Nancy; 6 children, Sue (Tom), Vickie (Barry), Doug, Dean (Debbie), Candi (Mike) and Kane (Tanya); and his siblings Judy, Joann and Robert.

Pappy will also be greatly missed by his 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Skip's family expresses their gratitude for all the great care he received from his healthcare providers.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3 PM Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Wesley U. M. Church, with Rev. Tim Patterson officiating. A Viewing will take place 1-3 PM Wednesday at church. Private Interment.
