Obituary

Charles J. Schilling, 91, of Oak Leaf Manor North, passed away on Sunday, May 4 th .

Charles was the husband of the late Regina Blackwell Schilling, who passed away in 1964. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Ignatius C. and Sarah O'Donnell Schilling.

He had worked for the Philadelphia Naval Yard in the steam and turbine laboratory from 1945 until his retirement in 1970.

Charles was of Roman Catholic faith.

A World War II veteran, he served in the US Army as a Tech 5, being stationed in New Foundland, Canada.

Charles is survived by 3 sisters: Teresa Peiffer of Sweet Water, NJ, Eleanor  married to Donald Slavin of Lancaster, and Bernice P. married to William Cunningham of Chester Springs, PA; and  a brother, James I. Schilling of Glenside, PA. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by a son, Michael Schilling who died in 1964.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10 th at 11AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 119 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA, with the Rev Leo Goodman as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in his memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125
