Charles Wilson Myers, 79, of Strasburg, formerly of Quarryville, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and dog Rooney on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Charlie was born March 5, 1939 in Mount Union, PA to the late Lee Clinton and Mary Maxine (Wilson) Myers. He is survived by his loving wife Emily (Hall) Myers, enjoying 58 years of marriage. Charlie was a graduate of Shippensburg University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education. He was a high school teacher at Oxford Area High School for thirty years. After retirement he was a salesman for Walker Oil. He was a member of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, Quarryville. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He often spent time visiting his cabin in Huntingdon County and coaching baseball at both Oxford and the local little league. He was a proud supporter of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his daughter Kathie (Tom) Kreider, of Quarryville, and two sons, David (Melissa) Myers, Wisconsin, and Curtis (Kim) Myers, of Strasburg. He is survived by seven grandchildren, Dustin (Shannon) Kreider, Kandace (Jeff) Barnes, Charlie, Mason, Abby, Julia and Caroline Myers and two great grandchildren, Quinn and AJ Barnes. Charles is also survived by two sisters, Priscilla Brown, Jeannie (Tom) Hagie and three brothers, Clint (Barb), Carl (Adela), and Craig (Mary) Myers. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing which will be held from 6-8PM on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. There will be a second viewing from 10-11AM prior to the Funeral Service at 11AM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 with The Rev. Jim Rhen officiating. Memorial contributions in Charlie's memory may be made to The Salvation Army of Lancaster, 131 S. Queen St. Lancaster, PA 17603.
