Charles Clay McMillan, Jr., 92, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Masonic Village. Born in Sparta, NC, he was the son of the late Charles Clay McMillan, Sr. and Margaret Loretta Garvey. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jean (Metz) McMillan, to whom he was married on June 28, 1952. Charles graduated from Newark High School, and attended agricultural classes at the University of Delaware while in high school. Charles retired as a dairy farmer. After retirement, he was a part time real estate agent and operated a stove shop in Avondale, PA. Charles was a Mason for over 60 years and a member of the New London Lodge # 545. He and his wife enjoyed camping and trailering and were members of the Masonic Travel Trailer Club. n addition to his wife, Barbara, Charles is survived by a son, David McMillan, husband of Roxanne, of Landisville, PA; a sister, Margaret Kennedy of Elkton, MD; and a brother, Gerald D. McMillan of Milford, DE. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Masonic Village-Meditation Chapel, RM 1610, Roosevelt Building, 100 Freemason Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Rev. Preston Van Deursen officiating. Family and friends will be received from 12:30-1 PM at the Meditation Chapel. Interment will be private for the family.
