Charles U. Maxwell, 74, of Millersville, formerly of Washington D.C. passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Washington, D.C. he was the son of Uhler C. Hebrew and Virginia (Maxwell) Zook. He was married to Nancy J. (Fedorick) Maxwell with whom he shared 42 years of marriage this past November.

Charles was a graduate of Eastern High School in Washington, D.C. and attended the University of Miami where he was a part of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He was employed by the F.W. Woolworth Company for over 27 years before purchasing and running his own business with his family. Charles enjoyed camping with his family and friends, traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC, and played a mean game of Eight Ball. He was a life-long Washington Redskins fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, John C. Maxwell of Millersville, Virginia Henderson and Gregg S. Maxwell, both of Buffalo, NY, Robert F. Maxwell, husband of Sarah P., Damascus, MD and Glenn E. Maxwell, husband of Emily K., Millersville. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Evan A. Henderson, husband of Kristen D., James W. Maxwell, S. Elizabeth Maxwell, Sheridan L. Maxwell and Duncan R. Maxwell.

A Celebration of Charles's Life will be held from 11AM-1PM on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551.
