Charles V. Herr, Jr, 86 of Lancaster died Thursday morning at Hamilton Arms. Born in Lancaster, Pa, he was the son of the late Charles V. Sr. and Margaret Nehr Herr. Charles was the husband of the late Loretta Templeton Herr, who died June 26, 1997.

Mr. Herr worked at Armstrong World Industries as an electrician and crew leader for 42 years and retired in 1983. He was on the Armstrong Bowling League. During World War II, he served in the 71st infantry Division of 571 Signal Company.

Surviving is a son; Donn C. husband of Debra B. Herr of Lititz, a daughter; JoAnne N. wife of Valentine Kirchner of Lititz, two granddaughters; Jessica Lucas, Lori Kirchner, and a brother; Kenneth husband of Betty Herr of Mount Joy. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Herr.

Interment will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park, 92 Secondlock Road on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11:00AM. A memorial service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz Pa. on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 1:00PM. Friends may pay their respects to the family at the funeral home on Friday from 12-1:00PM.
