Charles "Bud" F. Stauffer, Jr. 79, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Lancaster General Hospital, on Friday, January 30, 2015. Bud was the son of the late Charles F. and Esther V. (Myers) Stauffer, Sr. and was the loving husband of Jeanette M. (Harsh) Stauffer with whom he recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. Bud was a 1953 Lancaster Catholic High School graduate. Following graduation he went on to serve in the US Air Force where he was stationed in Berlin as a radar technician. Bud was employed as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service until his retirement. Bud was a devout Catholic and belonged to St. Anne Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Council #6810. He had many interests, among them he enjoyed playing golf and following Lancaster Catholic High School and Notre Dame sports. He was a member of the 1949 East End Panthers New Era Tournament Midget champions and also played fast pitch softball in the Lancaster Rec League. More than anything else, Bud loved his family and found the greatest pleasure in attending his grandchildren's activities. In addition to his wife, Jeanette, Bud is survived by 3 children: Mark E. Stauffer of New Holland, Jill M. Ferretti, wife of Nick, of Lancaster, and Kirk T. Stauffer, also of Lancaster; 3 grandsons: Vince, Alex, and Luca Ferretti, all of Lancaster; 2 brothers: Kenneth "Chub" J. Stauffer, husband of Beverly, of Lititz and Robert "Bo" J. Stauffer, husband of Vicki, of Lancaster. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Joni L. Stauffer. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 929 N. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 with the Rev. Norman C. Hohenwarter as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bud's name may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church General Fund at the above address.
