Obituary

Charles R. "Charlie" Simmons, 77, of Columbia passed away peacefully Saturday, January 27, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Mary M. (Reeder) Simmons.

He worked as an accountant for several places in the area.

Charlie proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed theatre and was a season pass holder at the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster and enjoyed other live entertainment. Charlie loved dinner with friends, family and enjoyed traveling. Charlie was an avid motorcyclist for over 50 years and was a member of the Voyager Club.

Charlie is survived by his children: Karen Milligan wife of Ken of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jennifer Bisignani wife of George of White Hall, MD and C. Matthew Simmons husband of Kolby of East Stroudsburg, PA. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Zachary, Zane, Noah; sister, Mary Ann Hess wife of Glenn of East Petersburg, PA and brother, Donald L. Simmons husband of Carol of Landisville.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the funeral home on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charlie's memory may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306.
