Charles Foltz "Charlie" Herr, 90, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was the loving husband of Kathleen "Kathy" Whitney, to whom he had been married for over 17 years. Charlie was born in Lancaster, PA to Lauriston and Ruth (Foltz) Herr. After the Army, Charlie graduated from Franklin & Marshall College and then went onto graduate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He practiced in Lancaster for over 50 years-retiring from Gray Patterson in Lancaster and previously worked at Appel Herr & Appel law firm. He was a very intelligent person and loved woodworking, photography, sailing and loved being on the water and fishing. In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his daughter, Julie Ann Herr wife of Kevin Harper of Bristol, VT, step-daughter, Julie Ann Whitney of Lancaster. Also surviving are his two brothers, Eric Herr husband of Dorothy of Spofford, NH, Larry Herr husband of Margaret of CA, and one sister, Margaret Branch of Franconia, NH. A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment will be private.
