Catherine (Cathy) M. Herr, 55 of Peach Bottom went to be with The Lord on March 16, 2009 at her home with her beloved husband, Douglas, and her dog, Sprocket, by her side. She would have celebrated 39 years of marriage on March 21, 2009.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Charles and Grace Dimitris Abel of Lancaster.

Until last year when she was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, she was employed by Willow Valley Retirement Center for over 19 years. She especially enjoyed working in the dementia unit. She was a very caring person to her residents and everyone with whom she came in contact. Cathy will be deeply missed by everyone.

Surviving besides her husband Douglas are two daughters: Sherry Davis  spouse of Christopher Davis of Lancaster and Lisa Herr Irizarry, spouse of Marcos Irizarry of Peach Bottom; 4 grandchildren: Karena Herr, Douglas Irizarry, Grace Davis and Evan Davis; and a brother Robert  husband of Marjorie Good Abel of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa and a brother, Richard.

Friends will be received on Friday from 1-130PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA with the memorial service to follow at 130PM, the Rev John Fleming officiating.
