Catherine A Dux, 87, of Lancaster died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at her home. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late James and Florence Sherrin Garahan. Catherine was the wife of the late James P. Dux who died in 1999.

Catherine was an Elementary School Teacher at various school districts in New York and Delaware.

She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, where she helped with their Bazaar and volunteered at the church preschool. Her other memberships include Retiree of the National Education Association, YWCA in Delaware, AAUW and she help with the Girl Scouts.

She enjoyed square dancing and round dancing.

She is survived by two children: Ann C. Dux, New Milford, CT, Thomas P. husband of Sally Delwiche Dux, Kansas City, Missouri, two grandchildren: Samuel and Megan, many nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph and John Garahan and a sister, Marie Rasch.

Catherine request that people attending the service please wear blue instead of black.

A  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, Pa on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at 11:00AM. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Thursday from 10-11:00AM at the church. Please omit flowers.
