Cary Dorsi, 83, of Lancaster, formerly of Brentwood, NY, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2014 at the Mennonite Home.
Born in Bronx, NY, on March 3, 1931, he was the son of the late Carmine and Carmela (Cascino) Dorsi. He was one of six siblings, all of whom predeceased him. Cary was the husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" (Ferguson) Dorsi, who predeceased him in 2011. They were married 54 years. He and Peggy moved to Lancaster in 2003.
Cary was a US Navy veteran during the Korean War as a Photographers Mate 3rd Class doing aerial photography. He was self-employed for over 30 years in the photography and camera business. He enjoyed reading, the Boston Red Sox, history and puzzles.
Cary will be lovingly missed by his children: daughter Denise Rossi (Paul), son John Dorsi, and daughter Bity Marquette (John); and his grandchildren: Michael and Christopher Rossi and Nicholas, Matthew and Stephen Marquette.
Viewings will be held 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm, and Rosary service at 8 pm, on Wednesday, October 23, 2014, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Cary's funeral will take place 10 am on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601, with Fr. Bernardo Pistone as Celebrant. Interment with Military Honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday at 12:30 pm. Please omit flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mennonite Home, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
