Carolyn J. Buchanan, 68, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Gardens of Stevens. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Hecker) Wittensoldner. She was the wife of James D. Buchanan with whom she shared over 47 years of marriage. She was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. Carolyn was employed with Bell Telephone Co. in operations, was a clerk at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co, worked at Dory Rand clothing store, Kerr Glass and served as an operator for an answering service. She enjoyed being a part of Bible study, reading books, music and drawing. Carolyn is survived by her son, Bryon D. Buchanan of Mechanicsville, NY, granddaughter, Aleena; sister, JoAnn (Schreder) Kubala wife of Andy of Lancaster and two nieces and two nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
