Caroline Weitzel, 75, passed away at her East Lampeter Twp. home on January 19, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary (Hartmoyer) Horn. She was the beloved wife of Robert D. Weitzel for 58 years.
Carol was employed by Weis Markets for 49 years; where she was still working one day per week. Her hobbies included playing cards, watching Judge Judy and listening to her favorite band, Surplus. She was also a diehard Penn State fan. Carol was passionate about family. She had a close bond with her sisters and enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her two daughters: Christine W., wife of Richard Seroski, Jr. and Sharon M., wife of Herky Billings; four grandchildren: Jessica (Dull) Baas, Kristina Dull, Julie (Seroski), wife of Michael Snook and Richard Seroski III; thirteen great-grandchildren; four sisters: Teresa, wife of Donald McGaw, Rosemarie Brann, Christine Horn and Anna Demmy; thirteen nieces and nephews; and her best friend Patty Martin. She was proceeded in death by her sisters Kathryn Koening and Maryanne Lehmen.
A Mass will be held 10 AM Friday, January 23, 2015, at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with Rev. Deogratias Rwegasira as Celebrant. Carol's family will greet friends on Friday from 9-10 AM at the church. Interment in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or StJude.Org, or to Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant St., Ste. 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or to The Healing Journey Foundation, 1858 Charter Ln., Suite 202, Lancaster, PA 17605.
