Caroline (Carol) Monahan, 78, of Lancaster, PA, passed away late Tuesday night, May 5, 2020 after fighting a heroic and inspirational battle with a year-long illness. Born Caroline Sekulski on May 6, 1941 in Brooklyn New York, Carol was the daughter of Zenon and Helen (Bubka) Sekulski. Carol grew up in New York and lived there and in Northern California and Springfield Missouri before moving to Lancaster in 2019. Carol and her beloved husband Thomas were married June 29, 1963 and were privileged to share almost 52 very happy years together until his death in 2015. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and only sibling, Richard Sekulski of Center Moriches, NY. The couple had two children. Carol is survived by son Col. Thomas (USA, Ret.) and wife Kristina of Lancaster; two grandchildren: Thomas and Maura Monahan, and daughter Mary and husband Jeffrey Whyte of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. No memorial services are planned at this time. Per her request, cremation was performed, and a celebration of Carol's life will be held in the coming months to properly pay tribute to this wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
