IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Ann
(Murphy) Mahosky Landis
February 18, 2025
Carol Ann (Murphy) Mahosky Landis, 71, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, New York she was the daughter of Carol Ann (Britt) Murphy Edwards and the late Andrè Eugene Murphy. Carol was the loving companion of Paul C. Hurdle.
She started her career as a teacher and proudly taught at Northern and Southern Tioga Districts (Tioga County) and Octorara Area School District (Lancaster County). Since 2005, she was employed at the Lancaster Costco where she enjoyed her interactions with customers and co-workers. Her passions included gardening, tending to indoor plants, reading especially the daily newspaper, decorating for each holiday, and attending art and craft shows. Her creative spirit allowed her to make her own artwork and crafts. The beach was a place where she shared many memories with her family, especially when her children were young, and they will cherish those memories always. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Surviving in addition to her mom, Carol and "Sweetie", Paul, are three children, Charity Mahosky (Brad Mowrer), Jeremiah Mahosky (Diana), and Joshua Mahosky (Jamie Kerrick), three grandchildren, Alaina Miller, Jarrett Mahosky and Jason Mahosky as well as two great grandchildren, Marilyn and Cordell. Also surviving are three siblings, Andrè E. Murphy II (Joan), Thomas Murphy (Patricia) and Ann Edwards.
