Carol Deems Kapell, 74, of Lititz, PA passed away on August 29, 2018 surrounded by her family at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Brown) Deems. Carol was the loving wife of Martin R. Kapell, her husband of 49 years.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Cedar Crest College. Carol enjoyed volunteering at the Lancaster City Library Resort, sewing, spending time with her family, and rescuing as many animals as she could.

In addition to her husband Martin, she is survived by her three children: Rebecca Kapell Crabtree, married to John Eric Crabtree with their children Benjamin and Ian; Jonathan Deems Kapell; and Daniel Green Kapell, married to Monica Atzert with their children Otto and Iggy; and a brother Ralph Deems.

There is no service at this time as one will be planned at a later date. Please make any contributions in Carol's memory to an animal rescue of your choice.
