Carol B. Hallman, 89, of Willow Valley Retirement Community, passed away on August 30, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Scranton, on March 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Gertrude (Shipton) Butler.

Carol is survived by her husband, Donald W. "Don" Hallman of Willow Valley Retirement Community. They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Carol retired as a Historical Librarian with the Hagley Foundation in Wilmington, DE.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Patricia Johnston, wife of Karl, of Chadds Ford, PA, Marsha Burch, wife of Peter, of Durham, NC, and Jill Williams, wife of Joseph, of Cockeysville, MD, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Butler.
