Carmen Luz Ortiz Rivera, 28, of Lancaster, died on August 21, 2007 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Santos Rivera of Lancaster and the late Hilario Ortiz Ortiz. She was the companion of  Marbey Rodriguez.

Ms. Rivera was employed by the Johnson and Johnson Company for 4 years as a Buffer Preparation Manufacturing Assistant. She attended the San Juan Bautista Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her daughters: Shayla Rivera and Pamela Chavez both of Lancaster; two sisters, Jomaira Ortiz and Lizmary Ortiz, aunts and uncles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 2:00 at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, 425 S. Duke St. Lancaster. A viewing will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM.  A second viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 12 until 2 PM. Interment in Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery.
