Carmen Franco, 71, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Puerto Rico, she was the wife of the late Israel Rivera Sr. and the daughter of the late Carmelo Franco and Santa Santiago. She was a member of San Juan Bautista Catholic Church. Carmen is survived by her children: Sylvia Yousef and her husband Mohammed of NY; Israel Rivera Jr., and Jacqueline Rivera, both of Lancaster; Richard Rivera Sr. and his fiancée Sara Vargas of Millersville; and Maira Rivera of York; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, 425 S. Duke St, Lancaster, with the Rev. Edgar Palacios as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
