Carmelo A. Santiago "Tonin", 74, of North Miami, FL, died Friday, September 8, 2017 at North Shore Medical Center, North Miami, FL after a long illness. He was the son of the late Juan Santiago and the late Elena Vargas. Carmelo was born and grew up in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He worked in the construction business as a self-employed contractor in South Florida. A Christian man, Carmelo enjoyed taking his children fishing, watching movies, and was a social domino player. Carmelo is survived by his children, Luz Diaz, Miramar, FL, Juan Santiago, Lancaster, PA, Norma Rodriguez (A. Rod), Lancaster, PA., Jose Santiago, Mexico, Carlos Santiago, Lancaster, PA, and Ana Vazquez (Frank), Lancaster, PA, 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Carmelo will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM officiated by his son-in-law, Chaplain Adrian Rodriguez, also sharing will be his son, Juan Santiago. His family will greet guests at the funeral home from 10 until 11 AM. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
