Carmelo G. Mendez, 79, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Born in Arecibo, PR, he was the son of the late Juan Mendez-Tellado and Geremia Maria Mendez. Carmelo was the husband of the late Barbara (Lewis) Mendez, who died in 2020.

Of the Catholic Faith, Carmelo was a hard worker who loved his family deeply. He worked for 31 years for Lancaster Malleable Castings Co.

Carmelo is survived by 3 children: Jennifer Ayala, wife of Joey, Amy Mendez, and Carmelo S. Mendez, husband of Michele; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings: Luis Mendez, husband of Carol, Isabel Goodman, wife of the late Dale, and Belen Gardner, wife of Tom; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Barbara, he was preceded in death by siblings: Johnny Mendez and his wife Ida, and Carmen Worry.

Memorial Serices for Carmelo will be held at 2PM, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584.
