Carmella Vivian (Heisler) Ruhl, 78, of Columbia, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in Lancaster, she was the wife of John H. Ruhl, Jr. of Columbia and the daughter of the late Charles J. and Carmella (Mignogna) Heisler.

Carmella was a 1953 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School where she was a Majorette.  She was a member of the Lancaster County Alumni Association.

A loving wife and mother, she enjoyed traveling with her husband in their camper and going on cruises.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by a son, Michael J. Ruhl and his wife Linda of Lancaster and two daughters, Karen Kain and her husband Ron of Elizabethtown and Susan C. Schulz and her husband Thomas of Marietta, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Alfred Heisler and his wife Lucy of Lancaster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, May 30, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster with Msgr. Thomas H. Smith as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
